"He kept me from doing stupid things"

Testimony resumed this morning in the Jon Goldberg trial with two character witnesses for Jon Goldberg.

One was his best friend and best man Sandeep Sandhu, he goes by Sunny. Has known Jon Goldberg for 25 years. He knows the family, spent Thanksgiving and Christmas with them.

He said Goldberg liked to stay home, "hang out with his family, play video games, maybe smoke a joint."

He said he had never seen Goldberg aggressive. "If I got angry, he would say chill Sunny."

The other a family friend, David Vizzini. His daughter married Jon Goldberg's brother. Has known Goldberg 20 years. He also testified Goldberg was never violent. He would walk away.

They testified about Goldberg's character, truthfulness, the relationship between Rachel Goldberg and Jon Goldberg.

Vizzini choked up before answering that Goldberg helped him through his divorce. "He kept me from doing stupid things."

Despite Deputy District Attorney Luke Bernthal's brief attempt at cross and asking the same question three or four times, both Sandhu and Vizzini said they knew "Jon" and stuck to their opinion of him.
