Kneeland suspect Austin Medeiros who assaulted a correctional deputy has a preliminary hearing scheduled this morning. His probation violation case is trailing. DA has filed an amended complaint.
I predicted in my April 28 case, about the insanity defense. "Will there be doubt to be declared or the insanity defense ploy so that this violent repeat offender can go waste more taxpayer dollars at a state hospital, be sent back a few months later and the cycle repeat?"
Conflict Counsel just told Judge Timothy Canning,"there will be likely be a 1368 declaration;" declaration of doubt.
Criminal proceedings were suspended. Next court date 5/31 is . Dr. Wilson appointed to evaluate Medeiros. Motion to amend complaint trailing competency proceedings.
