"Knowing how Humboldt Superior Court works, Judge Wilson will say he just got this; he needs time to review the documents. Mr. Steward will say that he just got the documents, he needs time to respond."

After hearing update : Next court date is November 30. The gist of today's hearing is not as simple as  tag evidence out; carcass evidence in. The tag evidence not being allowed is the first win today for Christie, his current lawyers and his retrial.

Judge Wilson's ruling on the carcass evidence isnot as simple as it is allowed in; he made remarks better addressed on a future date. The November 30 will be reset to a date in January when Judge Christopher Wilson returns, according to what was said in court and court minutes, so nothing will happen in November.

Ray Christie has a hearing scheduled this morning for motions on limine.

Christie's attorney, Mr. Rick Richmond from the Larson Law Firm is going to be in court. Other associates will most likely appear via Zoom.

Deputy District Attorney Steven Steward  is the prosecutor for the case. The attorneys were going to meet and confer before this hearing.

The 8:30 calendar is jam packed as is the rest of the calendar. The defense had previously requested an evidentiary hearing.

On November 11, I did four posts on filings in federal court and on November 12, I did a post on filings in Humboldt Superior Court. Both posts have a lot details on the October 21 federal raid at Ray Christie's house as well as his current criminal case in Humboldt Superior Court.

The federal raid will be discussed this morning.

In my November 12 post, I wrote, "There is a hearing on motions in limine on November 15 in Humboldt Superior Court. Deputy District Attorney Steven Steward was notified of the filings today. He and Mr. Richmond have been meeting and conferring as Judge Wilson said they should and they spoke at length today."

"Knowing how Humboldt Superior Court works, Judge Wilson will say he just got this; he needs time to review the documents. Mr. Steward will say that he just got the documents, he needs time to respond.  Or the DA will try the old trick their office does and say the filings should not be accepted. So most likely there will end up being a continuance."

"A while back I reported that Judge Wilson was going to be gone from November 22 and returning sometime after the first of the year. Unless that has changed, how will this impact the November 30 hearing requested by the defense?"

Trial confirmation is scheduled for 1/18/22; jury trial for 1/31/22.
