Mr. Rick Richmond's declaration. I have only included some of emails between Mr. Richmond and the federal prosecutor or the ones between Mr. Richmond and Humboldt County Deputy District Attorney Steven Steward. Cell phone and other information has been cropped.
One question that the federal raid may have answered for me was why Humboldt Superior Court and the Humboldt County District Attorney was so adamant and pushing for Ray Christie's retrial. Is there coordination despite what the federal prosecutor says?
I left out the emails where my post on the raid is repeatedly quoted.
The amount of resources spent on this case are staggering. Hung jury on misdemeanors; remaining misdemeanors finally dismissed after the DA got called out. 4 felonies left. Is the local case a bookmark for the feds to investigate? Humboldt DA could always dismiss the charges if feds had a case.
