Attempted murder suspect has one other local case

Temar Thompson was arraigned this afternoon. Charges are attempted murder and special allegation-use of a deadly weapon. Bail was set at $75,000 by Judge Christopher Wilson. That could change at the OR/bail hearing.

Thompson put on an interesting show in the courtroom. He interjected and interrupted throughout arraignment, thinks he is an attorney, wanted to plead guilty and you could feel his rage.

Several times Judge Wilson had to explain to Thompson the process and that he should listen to Deputy Public Defender Adrian Kamada who was trying to preserve his constitutional rights.

When asked by Judge Wilson if he could afford an attorney and wanted one appointed to him. "Yeah, until I can get my own attorney," snapped Thompson in response.

Mr. Kamada wanted to waive OR/bail without prejudice give the nature of the charges. Thompson wasn't having it. A referral was made to supervised release.

After that request, when he realized a bail hearing would be set, Thompson wanted to plead guilty. Mr. Kamada privately spoke with him. Judge Wilson explained that he should talk to an attorney before making any decision and Thompson changed his mind with an attitude that he was doing everyone else a favor by entering a not guilty plea at arraignment.

He has one previous case in the system.

11/15: OR/bail Bail remains at $750,000. Criminal proceedings suspended today. Thompson addressed court. Dr. Wilson appointed. Prelim on 11/23 vacated.  Dr. Wilson's report scheduled for 12/6/21.

12/6/21:  Temar Thompson was found not competent. Confirmation of transport is on 2/1/22.
