Half the County employees did not get paid today

Heard half of the County employees did not get paid today. Overhead this as I was in the Courthouse and out of sight from the employees. I also heard several employees.

I won't say which employees from which office but there were notes on the door regarding paychecks.

Will try and follow up why but  County PIO Sean Quincey selectively answers emails. I also sent an inquiry to Fourth District Supervisor Virginia Bass and First District Supervisor Rex Bohn.

Rex posted on his Facebook page. This is the response I sent to the commenter.

"Morgan Tully thank you for letting me know. The rest of this comment is not directed at you because you are being helpful; it is directed to the County. I don't have the time nor do I check Rex's page constantly. It is nice Rex posted on his Facebook but not everyone has access or cares to have access to his Facebook page. The County should have sent this information out to all media. The County constantly has issues with software and systems and there is never information released. This inter office memo seems very convenient when at other times, there has been no posting on Rex's page. Rex did respond to my email without including what he posted on Facebook which would have answered my question."

Coast Central Credit Union shared his post.

I received this from Sean Quincey at 9:43 a.m.

"Dear local media, We have received several inquiries related to the county’s payroll run scheduled for today. While this is a county issue, we realize there is media and public interest in this topic. Attached is a memo we issued to staff last night at 12:35 am informing them of the issue. We plan to update staff on our progress again later this morning, and we will share that update with you as well after staff have received the information. At the end of day we will issue a wrap-up to staff and media to keep everyone apprised of developments."

"Hello again, media partners, Attached is our 11 am update we sent to county employees. We will update employees and media again later in the day with further updates."

Karen Paz Dominguez posted on Rex's Facebook page.

Among the people commenting on Rex's page is Jacob Fuller, married to Regina Fuller, who works for and is friends with Sheriff Billy Honsal. Chris Petersen works for Probation. Is he working because he seems to have a lot of time to waste commenting on posts on Rex's page and his own personal page about the Auditor Controller?

These are two comments from Lost Coast Outpost's Facebook page.

2:15 County update:

Dear County Employees,

Our Payroll team received confirmation from US Bank moments ago that the file we sent was successful and employees using direct deposit should see funds posted to their accounts by close of business today. We are in the process of printing out paper checks for employees who do not normally receive direct deposits. In addition, a small subset of employees who receive direct deposits had errors in their banking information and those employees will receive paper checks. We will notify employees once paper checks are ready to be picked up from the Courthouse. The Courthouse will remain open until 6 p.m. to pick up checks. Any checks not picked up will be mailed Saturday morning.

5:25 p.m. Security was sent home. Some AC, HR and CAO employees still there with Rex guarding the entrance to the lobby on 5th street as employees pick up paper checks.
