This is the Sizzler,1905 5th Street, in Eureka. I have done a few posts on it being for sale, sale pending, being in escrow.
Today is the first day I have seen activity in there. Don't know who the cars behind the trashy RV belong to but I saw some people exit and head towards Sizzler.
The RV parked near Sizzler this morning looks just like the RV that has been parked for months on 3rd Street; near Target, at Target, near Pacific Towing and Red Lion, near the empty former China buffet and now on 5th Street.
That RV has two other cars associated with it that drive by, take stuff in and out, create traffic hazards and have other cars pull up, do an"exchange" and drive off. If you call EPD and if an officer is available, they stop by but it does not deter this RV. They move and come right back. They also attract encampments, troublemakers and suspicious activity. Another boarded up window at Sizzler.
I don't know what the reason was that EPD did not stop by this morning because they were called by some people. A male dispatcher answered one of the calls. I checked this out because a few people called me and then I went and checked with nearby businesses. The businesses are fed up of calling or contacting EPD.
Whoever this male dispatcher is, you got nothing on the women dispatchers and you need to work on your customer skills because I remember a call with a male dispatcher and that has been my only negative experience with Eureka Police Department. EPD dispatch is the best and anyone new needs to maintain that standard.
EPD is short staffed, people have left and changes won't help. I can tell you many people, including law enforcement are leaving or looking to leave as soon as possible.
LA is dealing with homeless encampments; the City of Eureka encourages them. And by City of Eureka, I don't mean EPD; it is the Mayor, Council and Eureka City Manager Miles Slattery who continue to disrespect and ignore the taxpayers, the residents and businesses in Eureka by the slums they have created on every street.
They have no spine. They won't cut trees on the sidewalk that could crash on poles or buildings because they don't want to deal with the flak from the local SJWs. They should be empowering EPD to clean up the streets but knowing this Council they won't. Have they tied EPD's hands in dealing with troublemakers who park anywhere they want, trash the place, attract more transient activity and engage in disturbance and suspicious activity?
Every time I walk to Target, on each sixe, there are cars parked, full of belongings and trash on the sidewalk and in many cars, someone is slumped over.
Natalie Arroyo and Kim Bergel have no business running for Humboldt County Fourth District Supervisor.
Watch for another roach motel to get busted soon so the City of Eureka can do their spin instead of addressing these issues.
