"The defendant was more credible than the witnesses presented by the prosecution"

Jury deliberations started yesterday in Stephen Robert Johnson's case. Before noon, they were back with a verdict. Not guilty on all counts. Seven jurors spoke with attorneys.

Lot of first time jurors for this trial included North Coast News Director Nazy Javid. I spoke with her outside the courthouse.

"The defendant was more credible than the witnesses presented by the prosecution," said Ms. Javid. "They did not prove their case beyond a reasonable doubt."

One female juror told Mr. Rees that you had two people on the stand that did not tell the truth. Another female juror said there was not a lot of investigation and more evidence was needed.

"90 per cent of my case was civilian witnesses," said Deputy District Attorney Roger Rees. Deputy Public Defender is Johnson's attorney.

The complaint listed below is the second amended information.
