The BOS should not throw stones when they live in glass houses

 

I am not a fan of Humboldt County Auditor Controller Karen Paz Dominguez. I am just pointing out the flaws of the Board of Supervisors and their idiocy.

Certain Supervisors aren't even hiding the obvious, political targeting. The Humboldt good ole boys and gals have gotten away with it for decades because they are allowed to; because most people live in fear. The bullies and the minority have the power because you hand it to them.

I wasn't going to watch the political theater but did for a few minutes. I stopped because there aren't boots deep enough for the shit piling. 

It is almost 2:43 p.m. as I write this post, several County employees are still struggling financially. It is a three day week and the BOS thinks wasting an entire day with key people from the County to keep repeating what we have heard several times is what they should be doing.

Second District Supervisor Michelle Bushnell made a remark that she does not hear about the Sheriff or the Assessor  but she does about the Auditor Controller. Maybe people don't say anything because they have been harassed, retaliated against or discouraged because nothing changes. People certainly have been vocal about the Sheriff and if Bushnell wants to plead ignorance; then do you really believe anything she says. 

Rex and Sheriff Billy are good buddies and you seem to be pretty chummy with the Sheriff yourself, Michelle. Rex and Michelle's district certainly get a lot of attention in press releases.

Bushnell is hardly in a position to comment on what people think when she hasn't even been in office for a full year. Her constituents are not the entire County.

Bushnell was busy responding to comments from employees on Rex's Facebook page about paychecks. Is Rex not capable of monitoring and responding on his own page? That would be hard when you are doing a photo op in the lobby using employees' misery as the opportunity.

At the Board of Supervisors special meeting regarding Auditor Controller Karen Paz Dominguez, Fourth District Supervisor Virginia Bass asked what would happen if State Controller would step in and Humboldt's credit rating.

Humboldt CAO Elishia Hayes did not answer that but went into Humboldt's reputation statewide a few minutes ago. She mentioned the Humboldt is a hot mess reference from last week. She said that Assemblymember Jim Wood and Senator State McGuire are hearing about the situation. Hayes said, "we are making a name for ourselves" and one she does not necessarily want.

Who is calling Woods and McGuire? Rex? Virginia? Their cronies?

 Humboldt County is watched by the state as a trailblazer.? 😆 Puhlease, Hayes. 

Humboldt is known for weed. Humboldt is known for people disappearing. Humboldt is known for the walking dead scaring tourists. Humboldt is the butt of jokes on tourist reviews and late night talk shows.

The good in Humboldt would be featured if we had better leaders. Instead we have petty idiots putting Humboldt's business on display on livestream because Karen Paz Dominguez won't play the game their way and pay Rex's gentleman friends the way he wants and when he wants. 

Humboldt is not the role model for the rest of California. Humboldt has had many scandals like the Magney case, the David Marcus fiasco. BOS keeps getting sued and loses because they are arrogant and stupid not to listen to advice.

The BOS should not throw stones when they live in glass houses.

I want someone independent and the County entrenched don't like that in government, politics, business or media.

I do agree with the Board that Karen Paz Dominguez ran to certain media. They certainly weren't there for her now, were they? She should have provided public evidence, if she had any of what she was trying to do and sent it to all media;  Karen Paz Dominguez did not. She does not know how to handle people who disagree with her. Will she sue the County like Jeffrey Blanck? Previously, she did want to hire Cyndy Day-Wilson. 

The only people the Board has speaking against the Auditor Controller are County department heads, employees and agencies dependent on them for money. Hardly, an unbiased group. Kent Sawatzky does not count as public. He will say anything to get his alloted three minutes of attention.
