Sharing this on Facebook got no comments, should have tagged County and City officials

There were plenty of shares but no comments. Toni Camarata Jansson did not post any follow up.

Instead of Facebook, had the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors and city officials been tagged in this post, maybe there would have been some action taken?

There is no information where the business is located; I am assuming Eureka. Why wasn't Eureka City Hall notified? Was the dumpster locked?

I found out on November 18, after the post was published, that "the hypodermic syringe situation was located outside of city limits near the Planned Parenthood facility." If you are going to post on Facebook, post complete information. EPD was not even the right agency to call.

Businesses that leave their dumpsters unlocked have the walking dead rifling through it day and night. All those fires started were in unlocked dumpsters.

The City of Eureka doesn't care about businesses or residents. The County does nothing about the addicts and bums hanging outside the courthouse. They have allowed addicts and bums to take over this County and the City of Eureka. They will continue to do so because they have been allowed to do so by majority of the people in Humboldt doing nothing to hold them accountable.

Target has addicts and bums camped out all over the parking lot and store with no respect for other shoppers. They have their belongings all over the store, garbage and filth right by and sometimes on top of the wipes provided to the public to clean and wipe shopping baskets. They rummage through the free masks with grubby paws when they could wash their hands. They have access to public restrooms in the store. Most restrooms in Eureka are locked due the garbage and needle issue. The public restrooms at the Courthouse are trashed minutes after the building opens. Dispensers vandalized and filth all over the floor.

Target calls EPD all the time. Target needs to hire private security; not use up city resources for what happens inside the store.

Outside the store, EPD is not the solution. The enablers, especially those with the "I voted for Bernie" stickers who argue with EPD when the police stop by after Target or some law abiding citizen calls for assistance further enable these professional scam artists by giving them change. Open up your Priuses and your houses if you want to help these people. The rest of us deserve to walk, shop, drive in peace and safety without being hassled by someone wanting a fix. I have posted about the professional beggars who have their shifts in that area and all over town.

Yet these idiots wont help someone struggling or homeless who actually has a job and is trying to better their life. Try getting a well paying job when you have no money for food, cant get clean everyday and have to put up with selfish people whose businesses are either built on government subsidies or black market cash and who game the system begrudge you a few dollars for food stamps. You cant even buy hot food with food stamps. If you dont have a roof over your head, what do you think you can eat?

Craig Hansens Insurance on 3rd street just lets the addicts and bums camp out in front of their office. Complete disregard for their clients and the public. I am sure there are tons of other insurance companies in Humboldt that want your business and give a damn about your safety. I have had to call EPD at least twice, including once while someone was casing their office. Craig Hansen should pay me for watching out for his business. Apathetic businesses create problems for other businesses and residences in Eureka and Humboldt.

For all the public statements, I don't think Eureka City Council or the County want to address the addict or homeless problem. They say what they want in public but then tie law enforcement's hands because they are too weak to stand up to the SJWs and enablers. They also wont stand up to the NIMBY crowd and the slumlords.

Prepare to see more addicts and homeless on the streets. Several of them never had a place or were kicked out. Many of these slumlords and property owners  collected COVID rent money but are evicting tenants anyway. They are the reason all over the country and in California why homelessness exists. Of the tenants they are evicting, there are several problem tenants. These people choose to rent to problem tenants and they have no problem taking government dollars when it suits them, run substandard properties and get rich and buy more property. You didnt earn these properties; you gamed the system and took welfare.

Many of these properties are paid off, many plan to use the COVID dollars and fix these properties, then sell them and make a profit. This came directly from someone in the local financial and banking industry and other sources with knowledge of local real estate. The local lawyers who represent these shysters, the politicians who cower to these scumbags add to the despair and addiction which exists in Humboldt. I will never defend drug use; but more people in despair and out in the street causes more people to be addicted because life long drunks and junkies like J.D. Pittman get them hooked and prey on them.

The City's bust of Royal Inn is less in the interest of public and more in the interest of turning it into another Humboldt Inn (former Budget Motel). Same clientele with a fresh paint job. The City of Eureka did not recover the money from Floyd Squires. Google what happened with that case. The only ones who profit are those who work on fixing it and get profits from the sale. Go do some research on who gets the contracts and profits from the City of Eureka "busts."

Law enforcement are not baby sitters. Lax California laws are the problem but most of all, useless Humboldt County and City of Eureka officials and their inaction has allowed criminals and bums to take over the City of Eureka and County.

The BOS and City of Eureka are an abysmal failure. As a business owner, call the elected officials; not HCSO or EPD. Whining on Facebook does nothing. The whining comment isn't just directed at  Toni Camarata Jansson. It is for all of you Facebook complainers who can't be bothered to send an email, write a letter or speak at a County or City of Eureka meeting. But you want to be seen hanging out and rubbing shoulders with politicians and Humboldt connected. Outside Humboldt, no one cares who you are or the Humboldt connected are.

The few people who scratch each others back in Humboldt dont care and never have whether you prosper. Stop looking at them to do anything for you.

The taxpayers pay the salaries of elected officials and city administration. If you are a local business owner, exercise that muscle. I keep hearing all this bluster about lawsuits. I am still waiting for the so called litigation to be filed.

The people with the money and means need to stop depending on law enforcement or citizens like me who watch out for their neighborhoods and the community. If you have no control or influence over elected officials or don't care, why do you expect others with less money and resources to do anything to benefit you? Typical Humboldt faux rich. Profiting for free from the labor of others.

Those of you who got the money, why can't you use it to improve Eureka and Humboldt?  For 18 years, I have seen it decline; not improve. You need to accept responsibility. You chose to invest your money into politicians, local media and people who do nothing for businesses and this community; except stay silent.

Many of you complain privately but in public don't want to be seen as being against the bums or affordable housing or taking any stand because your fake image gets you those dollars and "popularity."

Don't call HCSO or EPD whining. Get out there and do your part.

This post is less for the locals, more so for the state and national readers.  You already call me for recommendations about lawyers, businesses and whether you should move here. You pay attention to an independent perspective. You have been pleased with my recommendations so far because I have earned your trust.
