Preliminary hearing finally proceeded yesterday for murder suspect Connor Whited. He was held to answer on all charges.
I was the only person to cover the reporting of the crime scene and evidence collection live.
I did not cover the preliminary hearing in person. There have been a lot of continuances in this case as well as others due to COVID 19 and other scheduling cases.
There was no one media in court for the preliminary hearing. It took half a day and there were two witnesses for the People.
You can read the summary for court minutes from the preliminary hearing.
Arraignment on information is on August 16.
Deputy Conflict Counsel April Van Dyke is Whited's attorney. Deputy District Attorney Luke Bernthal is the prosecutor for the case.
