Motion to continue was scheduled in attempted murder suspect Matthew Ramsey's trial on July 1. Rasmsey has entered a dual plea of not guilty by reason of insanity.
Dr. Wilson declined the appointment. The July 6 trial date was vacated. Dr. Renouf and Dr. Matto are appointed.
Deputy District Attorney Luke Bernthal is the prosecutor for the case. Deputy DA Shelly Small appeared on the case on July 1. Ramsey's attorney is Mr. Russ Clanton.
Time has been waived. Status of doctor's report and setting of trial is scheduled for July 16.
I will keep an eye on this case but nothing significant has been happening for a while so brief updates will be added, as necessary.
7/16: Dr. Williams was suggested by Mr. Clanton. There was no objection by Deputy DA Steven Steward who appeared on the case by the People. Trial setting and status of doctor's report is scheduled for 8/4.
I checked the case on 11/10. The only change since my last update was that after receipt of doctor's reportt hat a judicial intervention was scheduled and continued to December 9. Trial confirmation is on 4/4/22; jury trial on 5/16/22.
12/9: 12/9 judicial intervention continued by court to 1/25/22 due to change in judicial assignments.
1/25/22: After judicial intervention, future dates remain. Trial confirmation is on 4/4; jury trial is on 5/16.
