California Treasurer Fiona Ma sued by former employee alleging sexual harassment and wrongful termination

(Ma swearing in Blackwell)

Judith Blackwell worked under California Treasurer Fiona Ma for 16 months as executive director of the California Tax Credit Allocation Committee. She filed a lawsuit last week in Sacramento County Superior Court for sexual harassment and wrongful termination.

Blackwell alleges that she was fired earlier this year after resisting unwanted sexual advances from Ma.

Ma released a statement to media saying, "I am saddened and disappointed by these baseless claims. We look forward to bringing the truth to light in court."

According to several reports, the complaint alleges that Ma offered to pay for hotel rooms and shared rooms with Blackwell, Ma gave Blackwell gifts, edible marijuana and allegedly climbed into bed with Blackwell  and "repeatedly exposed her backside."
