Reward ethical,licensed and good businesses with your money

Money is tight for most people and businesses. There are local businesses who keep their paperwork current, treat their employees and customers well and provide safe and good service.

Reward those busineses with your money. There are many good individuals and businesses in this community. 

They should not suffer the burdens and regulations created to address the actions of unprofessionals. Sadly, corruption, greed and weak people do not punish those who break the law and do not follow rules. 

When you are doing business, use your money to support contractors, plumbers, electricians and others whose licenses are current. Supporting unlicensed businesses of any kind indicates you have no ethics.

A phone number in a current rental ad caught my attention. I remembered that name and phone number because I had previously checked that particular contractor. That led me to more research and this post.

I have checked licenses in Eureka and Humboldt before for various reasons. People in Humboldt do business with these unlicensed companies. Some may not be aware; others may know and just not care. Shouldn't you check the license to make sure?

If a property owner, landlord, company does business with people unlicensed, what does that tell you about their character?

The City of Eureka, the City of Arcata, the County, others in charge of enforcement and politicians obviously think rules and laws are meant to be ignored except when it suits them. If they cannot even make sure certain businesses are licensed; why should they be trusted with any decision impacting your life and money?

When someone is homeless because of the work done by unethical contractors, when someone or a government agency is sued because of the work done by unlicensed businesss; you end up paying for it. Good people and professionals should not have to bear the cost because others are not on the up and up.

This blog provides you with vital information. It exposes those who are not beneficial to you. And you reward me daily with that trust by contacting me when you want to spend your money whether it is for a lawyer or a business or wanting information. I have earned that trust by showing you that I am not afraid to bring you news and information despite the attempts to target and silence me. I don't just take any ad. And if a business violates my standards, they are not on this blog.

In a small town, loyalty matters. Ads passively sitting there don't get you business. Your reputation and referrals by people do and a recommendation from people who are trusted.

Reaching people who have money to spend matters, not clicks from people reading comments and people who want to gossip.
