As expected, defense made a motion to continue the jury trial for Hugo Aguirre

Trial confirmation for attempted murder suspect Hugo Aguirre was continued to this morning. Jury trial sheduled for November 30 was vacated. Trial setting is scheduled for December 3.

At the last hearing, Conflict Counsel Supervising Attorney Meagan O'Connell said there will "likely be a motion to continue." She made an oral motion to continue. The People did not oppose the verbal notice or motion to continue. Judge Kaleb Cockrum granted the defense motion.

Deputy District Attorney Stacey Eads is the prosecutor for this case. Deputy DA Whitney Timm appeared on the case for the People.

Aguirre is charged with attempted murder of HCSO Deputy Rosalie Freixas; attempted murder of Carol Fuentes;  false imprisonment of Courtney Schlapicohl and assault with a firearm on HCSO Sgt. Greg Musson.
