48 new cases of COVID 19 reported since Friday

Forty-eight additional cases of COVID-19 have been reported since Friday. A total of 898 county residents have tested positive for the virus since the pandemic began, with more than 300 cases reported in November alone.

Residents who participated in high-risk activities over the holidays are urged to take precautions to prevent exposing others to COVID-19. Gathering with non-household members, even seemingly healthy friends and loved ones, can be considered high risk, said Humboldt County Health Officer Dr. Teresa Frankovich.

She added that most travel also increases risk, especially if prevention measures are not followed. “Whether you gathered indoors here at home or somewhere outside of Humboldt County, the safest option is to act as if you may have been exposed to someone with COVID-19,” Dr. Frankovich said.

“That means you should monitor yourself and your family members carefully for symptoms. If symptoms develop, please get tested and isolate at home until you receive a negative test result.”

  1. As usual, so. Any body sick??? Any body under 70 or so died???> Keep putting on your useless face diapers. The more restrictions the Gov puts on us the worst the restrictions get. I can't get over the people in this county that want the police called on people not wearing masks or "social distancing" and arrested and jailed. Yet this state and county continues to release serious , repeat felons due to Covid.!!!!. So sad to see so many people living in complete fear over this.. Sad, sad, sad. People during in cars BY TNEMSELEVES with masks. People walking on the beach with no one around wearing masks. REALLy!!! Time to start living without fear.

  2. Oh, by the way. When a Democrat Gov recently sent out a request to children of parents to report violations of his orders of family gatherings, this brought to mind the Hitler Youth who were also indoctrinated to turn their family members in. No wonder the democrats lost everywhere EXCEPT the top of the ticket (President). Than again time will tell.
