People and defense offers to resolve Brandon Watson case have not worked out so far


Trial assignment was scheduled for murder suspect Brandon Watson on this morning. Jury trial will not start on November 30. The case is scheduled in Courtroom 3 for December 1 in front of Judge Christopher Wilson. No jury interviews will begin on that date.

Judge Wilson is expected to be back. Whether this case will be assigned to Courtroom 3 is not a definite decision. The jury panel for the case "is being built," said Judge Kaleb Cockrum.

Ms. Andrea Sullivan is Watson's attorney. Today, she stated on record, the efforts to resolve the case. The People's offer was second degree murder. The defense counter offer of voluntary manslaughter and two counts of PC 246 (a) (1) "for the subordinate counts was rejected by the DA.

Deputy District Attorney Roger Rees is the prosecutor for the case. District Attorney Maggie Fleming appeared on the case for trial assignment. Time estimate is one month.
