Santa Clara undersheriff charged with bribery and placed on administrative leave


Today, the Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office announced grand jury indictments against the county's Undersheriff Rick Sung and Captain James Jensen. Charges are bribery for concealed weapon permits.

According to the Santa Clara DA's office, Sung held back issuing concealed weapons permits to Apple's security team, until Apple's security chief ,Thomas Moyer, agreed to donate $70,000 worth of iPads to the sheriff's office.

This is a part of an ongoing investigation and so far, seven indictments have been issued. Undersheriff Sung has been placed on administrative leave.
