"I remember waking up with him pulling my pants down and putting his penis inside my vagina."

Jane Doe is 23 years old and white and a student at the College of the Redwoods. She did not look at Hall except to identify him and sometimes while  answering questions during cross examination.

"I met him at the Shanty a year or so ago," said Jane Doe."He was hanging out with a mutual friend of ours." After that initial meeting, "I ran into him at school a couple of times."

In March 2019, " I had been doing homework all day. He had been periodically messaging me to hang out."

She drove her own vehicle, met him at Siren Song at 9 p.m., had a few beers, then went to the Shanty at 11 p.m. and had a few beers and played pool. When asked by Deputy District Attorney Carolyn Schaffer how many beers she drank, Jane Doe responded, "maybe a beer or two."

"Then I woke up somewhere I didn't recognize with his dick inside me," said Jane Doe. 

Jane Doe remembers being at the Shanty, "then everything is blank after that. I remember waking up with him pulling my pants down and putting his penis inside my vagina."

She was in a bed, facing the wall and Hall was spooning her with his stomach to her back. Jane Doe said she didn't know where she was and I laid there. "He realized I was startled. He pulled his penis out and pretended to be asleep. I got up and put on my shoes. He asked what I was doing." She told Hall, "going home." He offered to give her a ride to her car. "I realized I was in Eureka on Sonoma Street."

During cross examination by Deputy Public Defender Wade Orbelian, Jane Doe said she could not remember if they were under the covers or above the covers and how far her pants were pulled down. "Far enough for him to put his penis into my vagina." She said no to being sexually aroused and that "it was not painful." Jane Doe also denied making comments about Hall's physical appearance the first time they met. She denied that her boyfriend and she had an agreement to sleep with other people and was defensive when asked how many text messages she sent to Hall.

Despite Jane Doe's denial, Hall claimed there was physical contact between them including hugs and holding hands  The Shanty bartender confirmed that Jane Doe kissed Hall on the cheek the night of the alleged incident.

A cervical,vaginal and neck swab was obtained from Jane Doe. Buccal swab was obtained from Hall.
