Defense witness statement and new charges results in continuance for Patrick Marshall's preliminary hearing

Alleged molestor Patrick Marshall preliminary hearing was scheduled for this morning. Defense made a motion to continue. A motion was filed by the District Attorney to amend the complaint.  Both motions were granted by Visiting Judge Marjorie Carter. December 18 is the new date for the preliminary

Reasons for the continuance were that the defense gave the People a new statement from a witness and also to discuss  the new charge.

Marshall was charged with two counts of unlawful sexual intercourse in violation of PC 261.5 (d) and one count of distributing or showing pornography to a minor in violation of PC 288.2 (a) (2).

Today, two violations of PC 288 (c) (1) were added as Count 4 and 5.

Deputy District Attorney Carolyn Schaffer is the prosecutor for the case. Deputy Public Defender Casey Russo is Marshall's attorney.
