Marek Reavis being appointed interim Public Defender leaves only three attorneys at Conflict Counsel

It would have been only two, Supervising Attorney Meagan O' Connell and Mr. David Lee, but fortunately Mr. Hugh Gallagher (who is retired) is also there. All of Mr. Reavis' cases will have to be reassigned.

They can't to the Public Defender. There are only a few court appointed attorneys, which is an additional expense.

Between the dearth of qualified applicants for Judge and Governor Jerry Brown appointing three attorneys from the Public Defender's office (Kaleb Cockrum originally from Conflict Counsel) and the David Marcus debacle staff fallout, continuances are par for the course.

Ms. O' Connell is Marci Kitchen's attorney. Marci Kitchen waived time. Priority is given to in custody and not time waived cases.
