Beverly Hills settled lawsuit against police chief for 2.3 million
At the advice of the city's insurance company Beverly Hills settled one lawsuit against Police Chief Sandra Spagnoli for $2.3 million.
There are other allegations of racial and sexual discrimination against Spagnoli.
Spagnoli claims the allegations are a smear campaign orchestrated by disgruntled employees who are angry about reforms to the police department.
U.S. Marine dies from a gunshot wound at the Marine Barracks in D.C.
This happened at 5 a.m. this morning.
The incident happened inside the barracks. There is no threat to the public.

"Cy Vandermeer, former HSU assistant head basketball coach, and St. Bernard's Athletic director was arrested for Burglary, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of stolen property yesterday.
He was fired from his job this summer at St. Bernard's for stealing a women's purse and writing checks to himself, although the woman did not pursue charges, the board let him go.

Just confirmed he was arrested. Charges he was booked for were burglary, possession of a controlled substance and possession of stolen property. He is not in custody. He was released on OR.
