Robert Kelsey booked on arrest warrant for statutory rape

22 year old Robert Kelsey was booked into the Humboldt County jail on an arrest warrant yesterday for two counts of PC 261.5(c) statutory rape.

This arrest warrant is from a 2026 case filed 3/2/26. No arraignment date yet. 

7/14/26: Kelsey was arraigned. Public Defender's Office appointed. Bail is $50,000. At defense request, Colusa Superior Court Presiding Judge Jeffrey Thompson  made a referral to Probation for a supervised release report. OR bail on 7/16; preliminary hearing on 7/24.

7/16/26: Supervised release granted by Judge April Van Dyke. Preliminary hearing rescheduled for 9/2/26.
