Paul Clements arrested for rape by fraud

Paul Judson Clements was arrested by Eureka Police Department yesterday for PC 261(a)(1) rape by fraud. He has an open 2024 drug and trespass EPD case, a 2017 traffic case which was dismissed, a conviction in 2000 assault case and  an open family law case.

In CR2401154A, Conflict Counsel was appointed for Clements. He signed an OR agreement. Trial confirmation is on 7/28; jury trial 8/3.

7/9/26: DA has received report on Clements and it is being reviewed. He is on the must go list today and needs to be arraigned or he will be released from custody. Nothing filed as of 2:56 p.m. I checked with the DA's office at 3:30 and the case is still being reviewed. Arraignments are done for today. Clements was released from jail later today.
