Joe Hale sent notice of civil assessment for failure to pay

 

Convicted sex offender and former court mediator Joe Hale is in the Humboldt jail serving his sentence. In August, I reported that his expected release date is 12/21/23. Hale was out of custody for two months before his commit to jail date in August. Why didn't he pay his fines? A notice of civil assessment on 8/22 was issued by Humboldt Superior Court for Hale's failure to pay. A Humboldt Superior Court clerk said this notice is issued for failure to pay any fees or fines. His wife is not in custody. She could pay it on his behalf.
