The preliminary hearing for double homicide suspect Russell Albers was continued to today. The time estimate at the last hearing is for 3 days. I reported in August that the People are not seeking the death penalty. Defense has subpoenaed Coast Central Credit Union records.
Deputy DA Luke Bernthal is the prosecutor. Deputy Public Defender David Nims is Albers' attorney. Albers was held to answer on all charges. Count 8 as a misdemeanor; not a felony.
Arraignment on information is scheduled for 9/27.
