Rex encouraged people to donate to his campaign but has not submitted Form 501

( Rex Bohn for Supervisor website)

A candidate in California must file Form 501 before raising any funds. A candidate for state or local office must file this form for each election, including reelection to the same office.

Third District Supervisor Mike Wilson is the only one who submitted this form to the elections office. I checked with elections a few minutes ago and they looked at their log going back to the beginning of this year.

FPPC:

File the Form 501 before you solicit or receive any contributions or before you make expenditures from personal funds on behalf of your candidacy. This form is considered filed the date it is postmarked or hand delivered.

This excerpt is from Ryan Burns on First District Supervisor Rex Bohn's re-election campaign announcement.

"Nonetheless, Bohn encouraged attendees to donate to his campaign as they signed his endorsement sheet, grabbed baseball-themed campaign stickers and snacked on cookies adorned with edible decals that read, “1 More in ‘24!”

Since LOCO only took photos of people signing endorsements, we don't know if any donations were received that day or if Rex's campaign has accepted any other funds without filing Form 501.  Can't wait to see the spin Rexy and his buddies will have via their preferred local hacks.

While LOCO was groveling covering his snoozefest announcement which is the same shtick every time, the rest of the local media was  busy covering more important news and reporting substance than wasting time stroking the egos of the same self serving yokels.

Years ago, I actually wasted time going to these ridiculous announcements. Some people who signed and endorsed also donated which included the wink wink nudge $99 and under donations in cash or checks. Rexy and his good ole buddies know I am familiar with their campaigns and how they run them. Rex is a career politician and many of the same people we see pictured at his announcement such as David Tyson are familiar with election rules and deadlines. The oops I forgot does not work. Git er done as you would say Rex. Is John Fullerton your treasurer again? Is Storme doing your signs again? Maybe Storme could go stop by John Fullerton's office over the weekend and then drop off that Form 501 at the election office next week? The same Storme who regularly made fun of Cheryl Seidner, Mexicans and screaming stereotypes and racist remarks about other minorities.

I remember some kind of snafu about checks and not having proper documentation after a fundraiser and Storme in a tizzy trying to fix it. Hard to remember which one of you good ole boys or gals had that issue since you have the same basic campaign team, the same backers and are continuing the same failed strategy of big signs and tons of advertising thrown at certain media outlets that has failed for many including Michelle Constantine, Ryan Sundberg twice,  John Fullerton too many times to keep track. You all do have a "successful" record on intimidation, baseless gossip, retaliation and trying to silence anyone who stands up to you or informs the public.

If LOCO had any guts, they would do investigative reporting and the real story about Aunna Bollman's decline leading to her arrest instead of covering a random court hearing. Does Bollman and her Deputy Public Defender really stand a chance against good ole boy Rex Bohn, his buddy Sheriff Billy Honsal and the power of the County? LOCO is too busy giving regular PR to the City of Eureka and the County to do anything that matters to the average person in Humboldt. It isn't okay to threaten anyone and Bollman needs to have her cases tried in the criminal justice system but this is a small County and the Marci Kitchen, Rick Littlefield justice is not the same for your average person. Especially if that person is being targeted by various people with the power and authority in a small County where people live in fear and won't speak up. The Board of Supervisors control the purse strings when it comes to the Sheriff's department, the DA and County employees and have sway with the courts. The alleged victims in Bollman's cases are either good ole boys and gals or people dependent on the Board of Supervisorswho
The average person in Humboldt deals with threats all the time from out of control neighbors, people on drugs, mental illness and doesn't have the taxpayers covering their legal expenses, the force of the County, the Sheriff, the DA and the good ole boys watching their backs. People comment anonymously, some who even have evidence, some of say the same things I write about on this blog. They do it anonymously because they know if they use their name like I do, there is a price to pay.
