BOS pontificating, felony yammering and a bit of levity from the BOS snoozefest thanks to Kent and the anti vaxxer

Took a small break and watched BOS public comment on non agenda items. Some of it was entertaining  thanks to the levity provided  by anti vaxxer Genevieve and Kent Sawatzky.

Genevieve's song amidst her rambling is so Humboldt. Kent's zingers calling out Rex were on point.

Seated behind Kent who finished speaking around 10 is Hollie Klingel. She was recently appointed by Fourth District Supervisor Natalie Arroyo to the Human Rights Commission. Hollie needs no introduction to anyone involved in the community and politics. I agree with Kent it is good to see Hollie back at the BOS meetings.

I was watching by Zoom so couldn't see if First District Supervisor Rex Bohn was laughing at Kent or not while he spoke. You can listen to Kent's remarks on the video provided by Access Humboldt. He took issue with Rex interrupting him at the last meeting and making a comment while he spoke. Kent says that Fifth District Supervisor Steve Madrone reminded Rex this is not appropriate. Kent's said the public has to sit and listen to the BOS pontificate and public comment is the only option to respond which is accurate.

Kent made  comment about Rex's behavior and a chilling effect on the First Amendment which is a valid concern. It may not intimidate a Kent or Hollie but it will most people. I wasn't at the meeting Kent was talking about because they are a snoozefest but have watched both Rex and Michelle Bushnell snark during several BOS meetings, presentations and public comment. I don't recall any other Board of Supervisors being so arrogant and pissy consistently. In typical Kent style, he joked about talking to Humboldt Sheriff Billy Honsal about the charge of felony yammering and the dig at Rex being censured was a nice touch.

I have written before about Rex who should never compare himself to former Supervisor Jimmy Smith. Jimmy had class, humility and I remember his composure while Dane railed vitriol at him at a BOS meeting. Jimmy cared about all in Humboldt and he treated people with respect.
