Orange County Judge arrested for wife's murder, previously admonished by CJP for violating code of ethics

Homicide detectives arrested Orange County Superior Court Jeffrey Ferguson, 72, for the murder  of his wife. He was booked and  held in jail until he posted bond on $1 million bail. Officers arrived and found 65-year-old Sheryl Ferguson suffering from at least one gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Homicide detectives removed firearms from the couple's home. 

Judge Ferguson was publicly admonished in 2017 by Commission on Judicial Performance. The CJP found Judge Ferguson "violated the Code of Judicial Ethics by posting a statement about a candidate for judicial office on Facebook with knowing or reckless disregard for the truth ofthe statement, and by being Facebook friends with attorneys who were appearing regularly before him in court. 

This Judge was admonished by CJP for being Facebook friends with attorneys who appear him. There is visual evidence of Humboldt Judge Gregory Kreis partying with public defenders CJP and where are the consequences?

Homicide detectives have arrested 72-year-old Anaheim resident Jeffrey Ferguson for the murder of his wife.

On Thursday. August 3, 2023, just after 8 p.m., the Anaheim Police Communications Center received reports of a shooting that occurred at a residence on the 8500 block of E. Canyon Vista Dr. Upon officers' arrival, they located 65-year-old Sheryl Ferguson inside the residence suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Sheryl Ferguson was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Officers contacted Jeffrey Ferguson, an Orange County Superior Court Judge, at the location and arrested him for murder without incident. Jeffrey Ferguson was booked into the Anaheim Police Department's Detention Facility in lieu of $1 million bail.

Detectives are not disclosing any additional details at this time because the investigation is ongoing.
