Kudos to Ryan Burns for the video and quote about Rex being unaware his campaign had yet to file a form 501

Lost Coast Outpost and I have had our differences but I believe in giving credit where credit is due as well as thanks. It wasn't always so adversarial.

Kudos to Ryan Burns for posting the video of Rex asking for donations at his campaign announcement. 🙄 if you believe Rex was unaware that his campaign had yet to file a Form 501. Why did Rex not name his accountant? I was correct. John Fullerton is his treasurer, according to the 460 form filed on 7/31/23. I also appreciate the link to my post and recognition about reporting it firsr last week.

Ryan's article and the video:

Rex even though caught redhanded, denies,  deflects and snarks.

We, the media have done our job. It is up to you the public to let Rex know in the next election he is not above the law. Many of you were in an uproar about the whole LOCO Fish Co owner for one incident and are boycotting his business yet if you support Rex and his cronies and their businesses knowing the many reasons not to, then you are hypocrites. Eureka Natural Owner Rick Littlefield got SWAP and probation for his 5th DUI and snarled at me for my coverage and tried to intimidate me. You think there weren't consequences for me covering yet that court case and reporting on yet another good ole boy no one else did.? If you have a problem with one business owner but not another, you are a hypocrite.

Interesting to see some of the comments on LOCO after my post raising some of the issues I regularly talk about 🤔 It happens often and people who actively vote, keep informed take concrete actions in the community to bring about change have noted and mentioned it to me.

The good ole boys and gals in this town like to stoke division, especially use the local media against each other. They are not the only ones to divide and conquer . Certain people have badmouthed them to me and I am sure me to them. In this instance, we worked together for the community to the chagrin of the dividers.

I remember the days when I would see Ryan out and about covering news when North Coast Journal was under different ownership.  I remember Hank Sims column in NCJ which I used to look forward to reading. Humboldt has a lot of options for news. The readers who benefit most and are most well informed are those who read a variety of local media sources.
