No documents in Court ops box and defense accidentally finds out at the end of the day that Christie hearing has been cancelled

 Ray Christie's attorney, Mr. Rick Richmond, had planned to travel from Los Angeles to Humboldt for a hearing on Monday regarding the defense's latest motion. He was also planning to look at exhibits from Christie's first trial. 

I did a post earlier today and another post in January on this latest defense motion. The case was not listed on the online court calendars so first I contacted Christie; then his attorney. 

Mr. Richmond said his office was in communication with Humboldt Superior Court's Scott Anderson about the exhibits between 3:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. today and Anderson asked if they still wanted to come up Monday because there was no hearing. This came as a surprise to the defense.

Mr. Richmond received a PDF document from Humboldt Superior Court Coordinator Scott Anderson stating that documents indicated a February 7 date but the next court date for this case was May 9 for trial setting. Mr. Richmond tried calling Humboldt Superior Court CEO Kim Bartleson and could not reach anyone.

The letter below was not put in the Janssen Malloy Court ops box nor has the defense received a file stamped copy of the defense motion filed yesterday.

Mr. Richmond still plans to be here Monday and talk to Judge Elvine-Kreis.

The February 7 date has been on documents filed by the defense on January 25 and February 3. Neither the People or the defense was aware that there was no hearing as of yesterday. So why wasn't there any notice when the January 25 motion was filed or an alternate date scheduled?

Judge Gregory Elvine-Kreis is the Presiding Judge. Looks like the letterhead has not been updated yet. 

Humboldt Superior Court online calendars can be incorrect sometimes; usually due to last minute changes or not updating changes in dates. 

Courtroom 3, Judge Elvine-Kreis' court,  shows no cases for Monday. There is supposed to be an ongoing jury trial. Humboldt Superior Court does not list jury trials once they start and there isno paper calendar outside Courtroom 3.

The Christie case isn't listed  in Courtroom 3 or the master calendar.
