John Michael Nicklas was arrested by HCSO for alleged violation of PC 273.5(a), corporal injury to spouse/cohabitant in an act of domestic violence last night. Bail at booking was $50,000.
As usual, the rest of the local media will ignore covering this just as they did other "connected names" in Humboldt. I have listed numerous cases I have covered that other local media did not.
Court records do not list middle names for each case. Some just list middle initial M. Other cases have the full name.
In Humboldt, more than any place, the "connected" and their weak cronies like "media" who know their place.
Nicklas may not even get charged. This is just an alleged violation. The question is for alleged charges like this, would average Joe or Jane get a complaint filed? I dare any other local media to get statistics from the jail and DAs office. I covered some in a court case I covered which was excellent investigation and research by Deputy Conflict Counsel April Van Dyke.
Brienne Zoellner wasn't, Allen McCloskey wasn't,; Michael McBeth there were no charges filed for Nov 9, 2021 arrest; Bryan McBeth was arrested at local attorney's Michael Acosta's residence in Feb 2020 and no charges were filed.
