The endless cycle of continuances in murder suspect Ryan Tanner's case was finally broken after months. Sort of; there was a pre trial & motion to continue scheduled today. The district attorney wants to continue the jury trial in Tanner's homicide case or advance the preliminary hearing in Tanner's kidnap/assault/false imprisonment case.
The DA's motion to continue was continued to 2/28. The defense has filed a 995 motion to dismiss charges which is scheduled on the same day. DA's office intends to file an opposition to the 995.
Trial Confirmation is currently scheduled for 3/7and jury trial for 3/22.
Deputy DA Whitney Timm appeared on the case for the People today. Mr. Russ Clanton is Tanner's attorney.
