The Humboldt-Del Norte Film Commission is excited to announce the premiere of the film The Sky Is Everywhere on Apple TV+ this Friday, February 11, 2022.
The entirety of A24/Apple co-produced feature film was shot in Humboldt County and features many recognizable locations. Over 500 locals were involved as cast and crew on the production which spent $2.1 million direct dollars locally during filming.
While the film commission ordinarily hosts red carpet premieres for features that have filmed locally, a screening event for this film is on hold due to Covid-19.
Tentative plans for an outdoor screening later this spring are being developed with details coming soon. The film commission will be setting up a red carpet and lights at the gazebo in Eureka’s Old Town this Friday, February 11 at 5 PM for those locals who wish to take a photo at the filming location of a major dance scene in The Sky Is Everywhere. Formal attire is strongly encouraged.
Mayor Susan Seaman will be on hand for a ribbon cutting for The Sky Is Everywhere marker which has been placed at the gazebo as part of the film commission’s Map of the Movies mobile app.
The app is based on the extremely popular printed map of filming locations throughout Humboldt and Del Norte counties that the commission has distributed to tourists and locals over the past eight years. The free app, developed by Genterix, is now available on both the Google Play Android store and Apple’s iOS app store.
Additionally, the film commission has recorded mini-interviews between the Film Commissioner Cassandra Hesseltine and locals who worked on the production of The Sky Is Everywhere. These will be released via the commission’s social media this week.
