North Coast Journal fails to show up for their own lawsuit or file proof of service

On 2/4 in North Coast Journal vs County of Humboldt, there was no appearance by either party. NCJ filed the lawsuit and failed to provide proof of service. The County is not going to show up for a hearing if they were not served. Were they?

Judge Kelly Neel issued an order to show cause why the matter should not be dismissed for failure to appear and failure to provide proof of service by NCJ. The next court date is 3/21/22.

I reported in November 2021 the lawsuit had not been served on the County. The lawsuit was filed in September 2021.

Mr. Nicholas Boylan is representing NCJ. County Counsel for County of Humboldt. Boylan whose address is listed as Davis, California has represented NCJ in other lawsuits.
