I reported on February 7 that a third candidate intended to run for DA. Local attorney Michael Acosta pulled paperwork yesterday to get signatures in lieu of the filing fee. Depending on how many signatures a candidate gets, they can also count towards nomination signatures.
Deputy District Attorney Stacey Eads is the only one who has officially announced her candidacy. She did submit signatures in lieu of the paperwork.
Word is that Deputy Public Defender Adrian Kamada intends to run. He has not pulled any paperwork yet or made any announcement.
I don't know who Lost Coast Outpost spoke to because they reported on January 14 that Kamada had filed paperwork. I was also told there were two candiates for DA when I called. However, when I spoke to the elections office today, I was only told about Ms. Eads and that Acosta and taken out paperwork. I specifically asked about Kamada twice. I was told there is a statement on the election site which I will check out.

Kamada has a Facebook page, Twitter account and a website with one endorsement, from former DA investigator, Jack Bernstein. Jack also supported Arnie Klein whose run for DA was abysmal.
Who is running will be finalized when candidates declare candidacy.
Most people locally are aware that Acosta is being prosecuted by the DA's office. Trial confirmation is on 6/27/22; jury trial 7/11/22. I have linked the last post and two recent posts on that case. I will be adding more comments from Acosta soon.
2/16: Since this post, Kamada had a kickoff advertised on Facebook for this date. I did not see any coverage but heard him talking about it at the Courthouse.
