I keep my personal life private. Nazy and I stopped commenting or sharing on Facebook but our friendship has remained strong. For those who missed her live announcement, she is leaving Humboldt. I knew but it was her news and she deserved to share it first. Friendship is more important than a scoop. Wednesday is her last day on air at KAEF in Humboldt. She will be anchoring the morning show from KRCR in Redding.
I have known Nazy (Javid Wilson) since she first started at KAEF. I knew about her and Eddie before most people. Before she started dating and married Eddie, we spent a lot of time covering news but also developing a great friendship and mutual respect for each other. We still saw each other and sometimes, even three or four times a day. Inside joke between Nazy and me.
Nazy is going to Redding and this career move is something I expected. I knew it was in the works. I knew Eddie for a long time and I had already figured out before Nazy confirmed they were seeing each other. Just like that personal announcement, I am happy about this career move. In news and TV, it is rare for someone to stay so long in one place, especially in the Humboldt market. This career move is long overdue. Most of the other local news reporters I liked working with and who understand what news is have left Humboldt. Nazy, I wish you the best.
