This is Little Eagle Moon. Word on the street is that he is the suspect who was shot at during the multi incident on December 30. Word on the street is that Moon had gun shot wounds on both hands.
If Moon is the suspect from last week, fleeing from law enforcement in vehicles and collision is what he does.
This is just my hunch but I would bet the officer involved has some kind of previous record for excessive force or was involved in similar conduct.
There is zero reason not to release the suspect's name and if the suspect is in custody, why is the name not on the jail log?
According to a law enforcement expert, even if the investigation determines the officer shot at Moon who was allegedly ramming the police vehicles while trying to get away, at the very least, it is a policy violation. California has recently passed guidelines/laws regarding police shooting at/from vehicles.
I asked EPD earlier and got the standard Humboldt response from the brass. EPD Crime Analyst Brittany Powell is just the messenger and she did respond to me. The lack of transparency stems from Eureka City Hall, all Humboldt elected officials, bureacrats and law enforcement agency leaders.
If you read my blog regularly, how often have I told you something and weeks and months later; you read about it elsewhere. "EPD text investigation" scoops and the hiring of Todd Jarvis as EPD interim chief being only two examples. Named Anthony Hamilton in the Jennika Suazo homicide right after it happened. It took EPD five years to release and confirm he was the murderer.
Still waiting for Eureka City Hall to release information from the "EPD text investigation" to all media and public. Has Eureka City Hall not sanitized and put their spin on it yet? It has been months.
The City of Eureka is ready to discipline and fire officers for private texts and venting with zero information to the public; hired a scandal ridden outsider as interim chief with no public input and are further contributing to the tough job EPD does every day by witholding the name of a felon and one officer who may or may not have done something wrong.
