There have been some rumblings on social media about Little Eagle Moon's arrest and what information has been released so far. There have been others who have privately expressed they found the press release lacking as well.
The press release only came after I mentioned Little Eagle Moon as the suspect arrested and called out the lack of information and no name being released.
I reported about Little Eagle Moon being the suspect before EPD's press release today and gunshot wounds on his hands. That source (s) were solid.
Until Eureka Police Department releases more information and the body cam, what I have below is from different sources. I have no way of verifying every little detail until there is more official information.
There is no record of the two names I was given for this post in the jail log from December 30 to today but if they were not arrested, there would be no record.
There were at least two more people involved in the December 30 incident, I saw two of them being detained while covering the incident unfolding, at separate locations. That is a fact. Furthermore, there are pictures showing a male and female passenger and references made about a man and woman while the incident was being covered live.
According to sources, there were two other people involved in the December 30 incident. One female and one male. Belle Colegrove and Terrance Ballard were released according to my source (s).
One source said, "I found today's EPD press release lacking a lot of critical information regarding shooting of Eagle Moon. For instance, the fact that he had two passengers. One who was sitting directly behind him who just missed getting shot. Also the fact that Eagle was shot in the stomach. Not sure how that happened when he was sitting down in the vehicle."
According to yet a different source, Little Eagle Moon was at St. Joseph's under guard 24 hours.
Usually, PIOS can release more information and there is one press release. I have been through this with EPD brass before about dragging stuff out, a few times. It has been 4 days. Yes, this is an OIS but the officer is on leave, should have been interviewed by now, others were interviewed and released, evidence was collected.
I already wrote in a previous post, I have a hunch this officer has some kind of previous record for excessive force or was involved in similar conduct. More time helps in forming some justification for the shooting and for interim EPD Chief and the City of Eureka clowns (Council, Mayor and City Manager) to grandstand at a press conference.
This is what happens when Humboldt chases away good officers, scapegoats decent law enforcement because of politics and cowardice, lacks leadership and cannot retain decent men and women.
The other local media just sits back as usual using the benefits of my hard work. The other local media is too busy sucking up and being chummy to do their jobs.
