HCSO investigating incident in Hoopa involving a 57 year old male with multiple gunshot wounds

On March 28, 2019, at about 10:11 p.m., Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a residence on Pine Creek Road near Soctish Creek in Hoopa for the report of a gunshot victim.

Hoopa Valley Tribal Police Officers first on scene located a 57-year-old male victim in the roadway with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim told law enforcement that he had been laying on his bed inside his residence when someone began shooting at the residence from outside. The victim was struck by the gunfire and exited the residence after the shooting had stopped.

The victim was transported to a local hospital in stable condition.

This incident is still under investigation.
