Chad Smith's alleged molestation trial rescheduled for January 7 but due to court schedule may be delayed

Defense motion to continue Chad Smith's jury trial was granted for good cause by Judge Christopher Wilson. As reported here previously, there is one expert report that the defense has not received.

Deputy District Attorney Stacey Eads objected on behalf of the People and the victims. Judge Wilson said defense counsel needs to be prepared.

Smith's court appointed attorney, Ms. Andrea Sullivan appeared via court call.

Based on court and attorney schedules, the jury trial is set for January 7.

Trial confirmation is December 20. January 2019 has a lot of jury trials scheduled and Judge Wilson pointed out that this case is time waived.

Smith is charged with the alleged molestation of his former stepdaughter.
