23-year-old Marco Padilla was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence morning after he crashed into a street sign in Petaluma.
He was allegedly "spinning donuts" at the wheel of a Cadillac at an intersection. Padilla attempted to flee, but he was detained by officers who physically removed him from the vehicle and noticed signs of alcohol impairment.
There were two passengers in the car at the time of the crash. Padilla's blood alcohol level was triple the legal limit.
Padilla was on probation for a prior conviction for driving without a valid license.
