Humboldt County Sheriff's office has been without a PIO for months now. In addition to their regular duties, the three HCSO Lieutenants have been rotating PIO duties; mostly Lt. Mike Fridley and Lt. Dennis Young.
Sometimes, as savvy readers have noticed, it has been taking a while to get official confirmation. This is why.
I have been following up with Sheriff William Honsal regularly.
He told me today, "We are in background check with an individual, as soon as everything checks out,we will give a formal
hire offer. We hope to have a full time PIO by the end of the month."
