"I have watched our judicial system deteriorate into only the rights of the perpetrators.'"

Gregory Boduch, Savannah's uncle, said he had four drafts of what he was going to say.

"Mr. Chandler wouldn't have liked what I wrote yesterday. He wouldn't have liked what I wrote last week. Everyone would have hated what I wrote before that."
"I will say what Savannah's mother was too merciful to say. I don't forgive Kade Chandler. I will have to eventually, because I have a five year old to mentor on forgiveness."

"I consider a six year sentence merciful."

Jack Norton III read a letter on behalf of himself and the Hoopa tribe. He  reiterated the loss to of the girls and to the Blue Lake Rancheria tribe, which consists of 51 members.

He stated that 4-6-10 in state prison was the range of sentences for Kade Chandler's crime. "Even if he has no criminal history, I urge you to send a strong message to our community members."

Jana Ganion, the last speaker, read her own statement and three other letters. The first one was from Danielle Tellez.

Tellez spoke about her own struggles with alcohol. "By the time I was 20, I had lost 7 friends. By the time, I was 27, I had been in three drunk driving incidents."

Tellez and her friends continued to drive "buzzed" because "the legal system didn't care. Just as long as the fines were paid."

Donna Mueller, Savannah and Kendra's grandmother said Kade Chandler "murdered Savannah and Kendra. I reject the term negligent homicide."

"For almost three years, he laughed and manipulated the justice system."

"I am 75 years old. I have watched our judicial system deteriorate into only the rights of the perpetrators.'

Tami Moore, Kendra's aunt, wrote in her letter, "There are many stories like this in Humboldt. Young people driving drunk, large egos and big money."

  1. Thanks Chiv. for bringing this to people's attention. "For almost three years, he laughed and manipulated the justice system," sad.
Judge should have given 10 years jail; no driving ever. Thankyou for drawing attention to this injustice; maybe with enough attention; they can make the punishment for drunk driving harsher with less discretion allowed by the judge.

  2. The injustices of the justice courts should be on trial. We're tired of their political agendas and unfair treatments of the innocents. Expect a huge push from politicians and their paid propagandists to go after alcohol. What other agenda could there be when they treat the abuser as a poor little innocent who wouldn't have killed innocents if it weren't for the grape growers.
These girls and their families deserve real justice that only a non political court can give. Judges and courts are never supposed to play politics. Where the hell is a good pro bono lawyer? This case is a big threat to all citizens.
My sincerest condolences to the families. I can't imagine their pain.

  3. Does anyone know who did the probation report on this case?
