Once again, the People and the victims objected; due to defense and court schedule Marci Kitchen jury trial now set for May 29

After the proposed date for Marci Kitchen's jury trial was announced, Deputy District Attorney Stacey Eads said, "The People request an earlier setting date. We request a setting that addresses the victims' right to a speedy trial."

Despite the objections of the People and the victims as well as Visiting Judge Terrence Boren agreeing with Deputy District Stacey Eads' statement to the court, due to defense attorney and court schedules, the jury trial for Kitchen is scheduled for May 29.

"I don't know why we are at the May 29 date. I hope the defense and their experts will be ready and there will be no additional continuances."

Trial setting for Marci Kitchen was scheduled this morning in Courtroom 2. A continuance was granted the last time by Retired Judge Watson, over the objections of the People.

Joe Kitchen was in court. Chris and Diane Marchi were in court for Faith Tsarnas. Besides, Faith's father Jeff, Faith's mother Stephanie and other family members have attended court hearings.

After court, Chris and Diane Marchi spoke privately with Ms. Eads. As they were leaving the courthouse today, they thanked her for her hard work.

Trial confirmation is May 7.

Mr. Patrik Griego and Mr. Benjamin Okin are representing Kitchen. Kitchen was not in court; her appearance excused due to the 977 waiver.

  1. The defense will dodge that date. Their experts won't be available. The computer went down. We lost the file.
Honest... I ran out of gas! I--I had a flat tire! I didn't have enough money for cab fare! My tux didn't come back from the cleaners! An old friend came in from out of town! Someone stole my car! There was an earthquake! A terrible flood! Locusts! IT WASN'T MY FAULT, I SWEAR TO GOD!!!

  3. Griego stalls the trial again, but complains about the county stalling his lawsuit against the P.D. Office in the Times Standard today.

  4. How can this woman look at herself in the mirror? How can her attorneys? She is getting away with murder. She needs to be punished, serevely and now. This is a total disgrace.
