PG and E gate crasher Katherine Zacevich was arrested yesterday for a DUI and released on OR.
She still has dates for the PG and E case. I have tried the usual options so far to see if she made bail, no confirmation. Not even from the jail. I will check with her attorney today, if I can get hold of him.

No hurry John, she be back soon, hopefully not for killing someone.
ReplyDeleteReleased on OR, with her record. Well, Humboldt, your x-rays are back and I think we can see the problem.
ReplyDeleteIt's not Humboldt, it's state guidelines. This quote explains the quixotic nature of determining bail and OR pretty well:
ReplyDelete"For one, we determine bail in a completely arbitrary manner. Take two life offenses that carry the same penalty: Penal Code section ("PC") 187, murder, and PC 288.7, sexual intercourse with a child under 10. The bail for PC 187 is $2 million. The bail for PC 288.7 is $250,000. Explain the logic on that one."
The bail situation is getting crazier and crazier and I read somewhere the statistics quoted by the "no Bail" camp don't add up. With the 2018 election coming up (as if we haven't suffered enough!) I hope the bail issue receives the attention (and reports with actual FACTS and NUMBERS)
it deserves.
One more thought: Maybe she did a DUI so she could demonstrate she DOES have a problem which needs treatment not punishment. Or, the more logical: she has no impulse control. Hard to give in to your impulses in jail.
