It is official. David Marcus resigned this afternoon

Fifth District Supervisor Ryan Sundberg told
me that David Marcus resigned this afternoon.

The Humboldt County Board of Supervisors met for an hour and 45 minutes, starting at 4:15 today in closed session.

A request has been sent, again, to County PIO Sean Quincey for more information and statement from the County.

  1. Marcus was the supervisor's idiotic decision and I'm glad pressure was placed on them from multiple sides to can his ass. Resigning is okay too! Why was stupid all over the sups faces for this decision? Why were they SO willing to hire this creep when he DIDN'T qualify?? What strings got pulled by the good ole boys??

  2. A few questions for which we may never have answers:
Did the Supervisors give him a 'going away present' (technically he resigned but who knows the truth)
I wonder if Marcus decided his goose was cooked when he read that you had information about his 'friend' Chris Cella and that weird bogus company in Los Vegas. That had definitely sounded like a 'money-under-the-table-deal'

  3. Glad he's gone; dismayed that we'll never really know why this guy got hired in the first place, and why the BoS defended him so rigorously. The silence does not inspire confidence in the board.

  4. Sounds like he resigned BEFORE the BOS' closed session?

    1. He did but the official letter of resignation was not handed in until after the BOS session.

  5. Nobody talks about the fact that the supes first choice turned them down, or why he (it was a he) did that. But for sure the supes can forget bringing in a new broom, because no one, no one from out of town is going to want the job now.

  6. Anything new on this? Is the BOS just gonna hope we all forget??
