Employing homeless to clean litter and trash? Expanding legal definition of grave disability to put certain homeless on involuntary psychiatric holds?

Two programs that Los Angeles City Council is considering that should be programs Eureka City Council should consider and enact.

"A Los Angeles City Council committee Wednesday will consider a plan to employ homeless people to clean litter and trash from streets, sidewalks and alleys.

According to the City Council motion that would create a pilot program, the city receives an average of 200 requests per day through its 311 mobile app and website regarding dumping, debris and other trash-related nuisances, and trash is also consistently one of the three top reported issues to 311."

"Los Angeles County is preparing to ask the state legislature to expand the legal definition of "grave disability" to give officials more power to put certain homeless individuals on involuntary psychiatric holds. The move, which takes the county into uncertain ethical territory, is motivated by a desire to provide crucial medical help to those with mental health issues who refuse to get the care they need."

    1. Listen loser, I know you don't bother reading because whenever there is a comment that your radical left leaning pea sized brain does not like, you comment in less than a minute after the post.People who read, people who know the problems Eureka faces with crime, litter, trash and mentally ill are the ones this post is directed at, not tolietdome overflow that needs to crawl back in its hole. Do you have a life besides stalking me 24/7? I post, you respond right away, usually with nasty, digusting filth.

    2. Instead, the City of Eureka's "brilliant" city manager and photo op seeking, three progressive City Councilmembers think depositing city surplus funds into a pension reserve account and a resolution lauding Humboldt Harm Reduction is what Eureka needs. Of course, with voters like anon @7:54, no wonder Humboldt has not progressed in decades.

  2. Oops! I commented on another post about the LA plan....should have read all your posts before commenting. Well, now you know where I stand...
If a candidate comes forward supporting such actions, may I suggest a campaign slogan of "Come Clean in 18" ?
