Clinton Ellis-Gilmore arrested by SWAP, 9 days after he resolves his case for lewd conduct charge?

According to the Humboldt booking log and jail report, Clinton Monroe Ellis-Gilmore was arrested at midnight by SWAP for PC 647 (f) drunk in public. On October 24, He pleaded guilty to an added count of PC 647 (a) lewd conduct in public as a misdemeanor.

I do know about the glitch in the report that shows up in the jail log but it was the incorrect listing of the charge as drunk in public.  That error may have been a typo but it made me wonder and will make the public not as familiar with the jail log think this was a new arrest. People do get arrested for  SWAP violations.

There is no new booking photo. I have included HCSO Captain Duane Christian's detailed response which explains why his name showed up on the jail log. The jail log software was updated a few years ago so maybe County IT needs to see if they can work with the company to avoid confusion. I appreciate the time Captain Christian took to respond and the current HCSO team handling media inquiries so promptly until a new PIO is hired.

Mr. Chiv,

I  was forwarded your request for a booking photo of Clinton Ellis-Gilmore. Mr. Ellis Gilmore was not booked into custody and is not physically here at the jail. He was booked onto our Sheriff’s Work Alternative Program. There is currently a glitch with the report causing him to show up on the Bookings Report. We do not include people booked onto our SWAP or Supervised Release Program on that report for this very reason it causes the public to think the person is/was booked into jail. Based on all of this there is not a booking photo as he wasn’t physically booked into jail.

Thank you,

Duane Christian

Correctional Captain

Another name on today's jail log is Jonathan StClair Nixon who I reported on and was authorized for SWAP but in his case, the charge listed is correct and I did not do a post.

People are human, mistakes happen. Especially under stressful conditions and with the amount of criminals and repeat criminals.

With the jail reports, it isnt often. With the jail, I let the PIO know and refer to court records or other documentation. The PIO can them forward it to the appropriate supervisor and the jail is very prompt in correcting the errors.

There are also mistakes made in court minutes, more often lately. Again, I either let the clerk or the appropriate supervisor know. There aren't enough court clerks and court reporters and haven't been for a while. I see the chaos and conditions they work in because I have to get information under the same conditions. It isnt easy with deadlines, repeat criminals, constant rescheduling and noise.

Humboldt court records, law enforcement information and the prompt response we get from local PIOS and staff compared to the rest of California is something we should be grateful for daily. Our systems are not offline as often as other parts of California. It makes a big difference in live reporting.
