Human Rights Commissioner and longtime local activist Hollie Klingel spoke at 12:04. I wasn't watching the meeting all morning but I watched a few people comment on the agenda.
Klingel is a grandmother who has raised her grandchildren because her own daughter is frequently arrested and in and out of the court system. Despite her own challenges and struggles, Hollie volunteers and has given back to this community. I don't care what Betsy Watson thinks because she has an agenda. I don't want to hear from Humboldt County Growers Alliance Policy Director Ross Gordon who profits from the cannabis industry. I do care about what Hollie thinks because she is genuine and speaks about the community she lives in and has contributed to for decades.
With First District Rex Bohn out of town, at today's meeting the public actually got to comment without his snark, eye rolls and interruptions.
As usual, the Board of Supervisors kicked the can down the road. Some of the people speaking have had more than their 15 minutes of fame and used up hours and hours of time at the Board of Supervisors' meetings for their own selfish interests. Humboldt BOS have no backbone.
